Incredible Scenic Alaska
from an
Exquisite Historic Aircraft
with a
Pilot That Has Flown Over 20,000 hours in Alaska
Enjoy the timeless scenery of Alaska glaciers and Kachemak Bay, and discover the elegance of our historic and exquisite 1929 5-passenger Travel Air S6000B.
On our one-hour Scenic Flight we'll take you across Kachemak Bay, over the quaint community of Halibut Cove, over glaciers and icefields, past ridges that are the summer home of Alaskan mountain goats. You'll fly down green valleys, past waterfalls, and through fjords where remote cabins dot the shoreline. You can observe sea otters, seals, and eagles on the islands before returning to the lake in Homer. This one hundred mile flight costs $120 per person (minimum two), with group rates available.
Our Travel Air S6000B, called the "Limousine of the Air" by the factory, was built in limited quantities in the late 1920s. It was originally used for executive transport by prosperous companies and by fledgling airlines including Delta and Braniff. Travel Air 6000's provided air service to the Kenai Peninsula with Woodley Airways in the 1930s and 1940s. Today, its big mahogany-framed picture windows, wicker seats, and luxurious broadcloth interior make the Travel Air 6000 the perfect sightseeing vehicle.
We recently completed a three year restoration of the Travel Air, and today it is literally better than new, thanks to modern materials used in the process. Ours is the only Travel Air equipped with floats and the only one flying licensed under FAA part 135 regulations as an Air Taxi.
